As the world turns..

So, I thought while in Ottawa I'd have so much time to blog and update daily. As it turns out..there's not alot of time, so i haven't updated at all. Just to let you all know..things are going wonderfully. Better than I could have ever expected. Braden is LOVING his therapy program, he is excelling and doing so much better that I thought he would. There are already changes in his physical stature and mobility.
The very first week was an emotional roller coaster. There was one moment during Braden's therapy that he was in an exercise room pulling down with both arms on an arm press, he was lifting weights and I became very overwhelmed with emotions. I've waited along time for him to be involved with some sort of therapy program..but i've waited alot longer for him to WANT to do it too. Its wonderful that he is pushing himself, and wanting this. Its been a long 6 weeks, but its been worth it.

Post 18 → Your views on gay marriage

I don''t have any views on gay marriage..if you love one another, and are good to eachother whether homosexual or heterosexual..you have the right to be married and build a life together. Its simple, love should have no boundries~

Post 17 → A book you’ve read that changed your views on something

Nothing is Impossible By Christopher Reeves

This is a book that help shape and change the course of my life. It was the first book that I read relating to someone living with and surviving a serious Spinal Cord Injury.
One very simple quote...changed my life forever~

So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable. If we can conquer outer space, we can conquer inner space, too.

On the weekend we had some friends over for dinner, it was so nice to see them and their girls. Paul and I served bbq ribs and chicken with a mashed potatote
casserole, and tomatoe/esparagus vegetable plate

along with a cesear salad with shrimp. For dessert I served this amazing Turtle Pumpkin Pie, honestly one of the bests desserts I've ever made. Its so simple but soooo damn delish!

The return of fall...

I'm not sure about you? Most people I talk to just LOVE summertime! I do too..but probably not for all the same reason's you do. I absolutley love the freedom the that summer brings...i couldn't stand the structure and routine's that had to be followed while the kids were about the ages of 8-13...those were the years when they were watching movies with us, with common interests, sleeping in, playing outside kinda unsupervised, having sleepovers, LOVING the beach, swimming in our pool...the house was ALWAYS full with fun! Ok, so your probably thinking that's exactly why I love summer too...but what i will confess to is I HATE the hot, humid weather! Honestly I would much prefer heating my pool to 95 degree's, but have the temperature outside sit at about 20 degree's celseus!!
Ya, I'm a chill kinda girl.
I like the cooler weather...I do however LOVE the beach, mostly the atmoshphere not the swimming. I miss our boat..those days were wonderful, trucking along the water's edge, blarring our favorite songs and having a nice tall cool one...maybe floating on a dinging tied to the boat...loved that!
I do have to admit that autumn is my fav. and I think its because I love the cooler air that it brings, along with the feelings of comfort. I miss my house smelling like pot roast, roasted chicken and apple pie through the summer months. I tend not to cook as much, more things done on the bbq. There's nothing like the family coming home from their jobs and school to a nice homemade dinner, warm and straight out of the oven. I love the feeling of what fall brings...new holidays, old friends, christmas and most importantly Halloween! Its kinda weird how times have changed with that as well...I use to dress the kids up, take them out to get candy and watch episodes of Treat or Treat with Winnie the pool, or Barney's Halloween surprise...today, we decorate the house, buy our candy and hand it out together. Inbetween kids ringing the door bell and the dogs freaking out and running for the front door, we gather around the TV and watch episodes of Halloween staring Michael Meyers..the kids love that and I must admit...I do too! This all of course happens as long as there is no exciting teenage party that they NEED to be at because.."mom, everyone's going!!"
There's one thing that I must say and share that I hope brings as much excitment to your anticipation of fall as it does me...that my friends is this...

A little piece of heaven~
