I am sorry my friends, I've been away for a bit. I just couldn't seem to find the time to blog. All is well again, hopefully I will resume back to my normal scheduled blogging posts.
Last Thursday we had a birthday celebration for my nephew Ethan he turned 12 years old. Where has the time gone?
We had such a wonderful dinner. He left this past Saturday for San Diego, so we wanted to give him money for his gift. We just figured he'd want some spending money for the holiday. I didn't want to just pass him money in a card attached to some Happy Birthday messages, I wanted to make it special somehow. So I found this clever way to present a money gift.
I started out with some American money and some balloon's. I got 10-1.00 bills, 4-5.00 bills, 2-10.00 bills and 20.00 bills.
You tightly roll the money so that it fits in the ends of the balloon's.
Then you blow up the balloon just a bit so you can fit all the balloon's into a box.
I added a "POP ME" sign so that when he opened it up he'd see the instructions on his next move.
Ethan realizes he needs something to pop these balloon's with so off he goes to get some scissor's.
Below he has his scissors and begin's his popping~
Look at that smile, once he pops the balloon he figures out there's money inside :) Happy boy!!
Counting out his money, 60.00 dollars American!
Happy 12th birthday to my handsome nephew!!!
Nana and poppa below, having a lovely time with their grandson. They also gifted him with money, again its a much needed gift when you are travelling to the states.
Well friends, it was a big success..it was wonderful having him. We love our time with Ethan, he's growing so much We discussed how in just a few years he may find himself too busy to come visit his nana and poppa and aunt, uncle and cousins. Some day not too long from now he will be a driving, part time working, full time school possible girlfriend 16 year old. Our hopes is that regardless of how old he is or how busy he becomes he will always come around and spend time with us. He is always welcome in our homes, I will always have a place reserved just for him We love you Ethan, you are such a good boy~
Good night my chummies, until tomorrow god bless~
Happy Birthday Ethan! Chrissy what a great idea. I love it very creative way to make a gift more fun to open!
