100 things I want to teach my daughter #89 ~ Always Have a Little "Eff You Money" tucked away~

Make sure you always have a little "Eff you" money tucked away. You never know when you'll want to get out of any given situation.

This is something I never had, especially as a young woman. My life just didn't require anything like this. Probably because I got married so young and had a baby so quick. Then I had a terrible accident that left your brother severely injured. For me, there was never ever an Eff you time that I could walk away from.
But as a young woman, always remember if/when you are ever in a situation whether it be a shitty job with a even shittier manager, or maybe an idiot boyfriend or even possibly having to live with a shit storm of a room mate. Always have some money stashed away so that if you are being treated with disrespect or you find yourself in a sticky situation, you will at least have the option to jump ship.
It may not even be something related to a bad relationship with friends or family, it may be something you need really bad. Maybe your big screen TV breaks and you are lost without it, Eff you money is something that could help you get out of that Eff'ing situation.
Maybe your friends are going on a trip and your boss decided to give you the time off, sadly you don't have them money to join them. BUT oh look at that...mom said to have some "eff you" money put away...low and behold, there you go..guess who's going to New York City to party with the girls ...You are! Sex in the City..here you come!

It will never hurt to have some money stashed away for emergencies. Be careful though, only use your "Eff You" Money when you are in a real predicament. Don't go throwing it away on new clothes, and travel. Unless of course you REALLY need a holiday due to stress, then go away...as far as you can go~
Well my darling this one is for you, Eff You Money....it will save your sanity more than you'll know~
Love you baby,
