Lucky me!!! I am truly blessed with some of the best people on earth! Last night my friend Colleen and I went out to dinner again to celebrate my birthday and more importantly to get caught up on life. Due to my recent illness I haven't had much of an appetite, so I told her lets just go somewhere where we can get a bowl of soup. She knew of this place on Hespeler Rd. called Zoup, and honestly it was SO good!! It was the perfect bowl of Lobster Bisque, and the perfect evening to catch up.
I really do love these dinner dates with friends, its more of who I am. I love the one to one, look into eachothers eyes to read the unspoken signs and words that you may not feeling like saying. I love the undivided attention you recieve, not fighting for the spotlight to express or share your thoughts or feelings. The friendships I value most are the ones that don't take work, the ones where you can go days without speaking, weeks without seeing eachother but still picking up where you left off from the last time. No expectations, no agenda...just easy~
After our soup, we went and got a coffee...we still needed a bit more time to chat, and we closed down the restaurant earlier that evening.
Thank you Colleen for the real conversation, the down and dirty shit of what this world is doing to each of us. Never seems fair, especially when we feel like we are going at this fight alone. I am happy that I am not alone..and neither is she~
Tonight I am heading to Toronto with another mom..we are driving our girls to a concert to see Imagine Dragon, Julie and I will probably find some restaurant and sit and chat for the time the girls are there.
On another note, Paul came down with our Intestinal Virus that has run through our family. Poor guy was up through the night throwing up..he stayed home today, resting and taking in fluids. I went and got him some soup from Swiss Chalet, I swear its the only cure in this family for stomach bugs. He is feeling better and should be back at work tomorrow, thankfully it didn't hit him too hard!
