Fridays For Families..

I love this picture that I found, the name of it is "The Fractured Family"..can't you see yourself in this photo? I can... I mean its easy to say we all get caught up in life, our kids find pleasure in all their electronics..ipods, gameboys and laptops. I also believe as parents we get caught up in our own worlds as well..buisness, holidays, friends, and household duties..but you know what?? We still need to wrangle them all in and remind them of what's important...Family! SOmetimes I feel like I'm the only one in this house that wants to spend time together, eat dinner at the kitchen table, or even just spend the day out at the mall or movies. The kids are really finding less and less reason's to spend time with us, its a harsh reality, one that I can't seem to win. With all that said...I still have my ways...when mom says its time to spend time with her..look out! I do think the kids get it, and I know they enjoy being with us (we are pretty tight) sometimes its just getting there and once we are there..they have a great time! Things could be alot worse and I know that, I love that our house is a place that the kids like to hangout, their friends do enjoy coming here...and we like to have them. I am so excited to get Kail's bedroom downstairs, she will have so much more privacy and it seems that her sleepovers are usually nothing less than 4 girls, now they will have the space and privacy that they like. Braden is starting to adjust to the changes, he hates change! He hates that Kail is going downstairs and he hates that he has to change his room. I think once he realizes all the privacy he will have, not having to share a bathroom anymore with Kailey will be very pleasing. He hasn't warmed to the idea of having two rooms to himself, he will even have his own computer/office room with his video games, movies and a spot specially designed for his best friend Spencer...how much better could it be?

You know the plan was to have every Friday dedicated to my thoughts and feelings on everything related to families, kids, marriage, friendships and pretty much anything important in life.
So, I did have a topic planned out, interviewed Paul for his opinion and then lost my papers!! Damn!! It was good too...Tonight I am going to cop out and keep it short because I am not really prepared. I will say that my topics will include input from Paul, his thoughts on life, marriage and kids and I will even allow him to speak his mind even if I don't agree with him! HA!!
I need topic ideas though...my life isn't interesting enough to keep this idea going strong for a year, I will have to do some research.
I think this is going to be fun, I am looking forward to it! I am sure Paul and I will have many interesting conversations and I will share every word with you! Please remember that these are really only our thoughts, there will be times that you may not agree with me or I may even say something that pisses you off..it's all in fun...just ask Paul!!
