Chai Tea Delight...

>

Check it out my friends....look what I can do!! Impressive isn't it!! HA.
Yes, I do have a stensil for latte's, special coffee and flavoured tea's. It took me some time to perfect it, but I did! It was good!
Tonight I had to take Braden to a class called "Delightful Dogs". Its a dog training class for families who are interested in training their dogs to become therapy dogs. No, none of our three perfect dogs are enrolled to be therapy dogs. They have asked Braden to come out and help the dogs become experienced around wheelchairs. Braden has been doing this class for 3 years, its a volunteer position and originally he did it to get some hours for volunteer work in highschool. He has already gotten all of his hours but when they called him and asked him to come back he happily replied "Sure". I was pretty proud of him, taking his time to volunteer when he doesn't have too. He is fortunate enough not to have to work as well as go to highschool but he feels its important to still contribute his time to other things. I stayed for a bit and watched the class, it was pretty cool.
Afterwards Braden and I headed to Fairview mall to get a few things...I went into Bath and Body Works and picked up a few really nice body lotions...

Monday's Menu...

Bacon Cheeseburger Rollup

Ingredients:
1 lb.(450 g) lean ground beef
4 slices bacon, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
2/3 cup Cheez Whiz Process Cheese
Product 1 pkg. (235 g) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls

BROWN
ground beef with bacon and onions in large skillet; drain. Stir in Cheez Whiz; cook until melted, stirring frequently. Cool 10 min. UNROLL dough onto baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Press into 14x7-inch rectangle, firmly pressing seams and perforations together to seal. Cover with meat mixture. Roll up dough, starting at 1 long side. Rearrange, if necessary, so roll is seam-side down on baking sheet. BAKE 20 to 25 min. or until golden brown.
This recipe was not great! Only Paul and I really liked it, the kids were not very fond of it! I did take pictures of it, but Kailey thinks the pictures are too gross looking to put up on my blog so I chose not too!

I walked my dogs tonight and it was raining hard, at first I wanted to turn around and just not bother walking. Once I started and both dogs didn't seem to mind I decided to keep going...and guess what? It was one of my favorite walks yet! The roads were wet, the sound of the rain was soothing and the smell of fall was in the air. I could smell the fireplaces in the neighbour hood and it was comforting. I always have my Ipod with me and listen to my more relaxing music at night. When I run in the morning I listen to my fast, upbeat music and I don't want to repeat my listening pleasures during the day. One of my favorite songs during my night time walk is KD Lang's "Hallelujah", not typically a song that I would normally love...but I do. So picture this, walking down a dark and rainy quiet street listening to the beautiful sounds of "Hallelujah" playing in your ear. As you look up at the light post the rain lightly drizzles onto your face. On this dark street, the light posts are gloomy giving off a dull, bleary glow giving the atmosphere a serene kinda feeling. It was great, so calming...I was totally in my element!

WE WON!!!

Yes we did my friends, The Cambridge Turbo`s won the first game of the season! Well I won`t get to cocky, because anything can happen! However, it is so encouraging to start the regular season with a win!! They looked fabulous, they have speed, talent and ability and it showed today on the ice! Way to go ladies...couldn`t be prouder!!
I read this blog today and it made me so sad, it is a blog by a mom who was pregnant with twins. She went into labour early and delivered her twins at 21 weeks, they did not survive..Heartbreaking!! But, after the delivery the mom had a blood clot which travelled to her heart, into her lungs which then deprieved her brain from oxygen for 17 minutes. She is unresponsive, not responding to pain or stimuli...her family is devastated..Heartbreaking. I kept reading and found out that the husband had lost his first wife to cancer 3 years ago and had 3 children from that wife. He is about to loose her....Heartbreaking! You know, sometimes in low moments during life I can feel pretty sad...who doesn't?! The pain that this man must be feeling is agonizing. It is times like this that I do question my faith and I am directly reminded that no one is immune to tragedy.
Sleep well my friends, and sleep peacefully, be thankful tonight that your world is intact, safe and unscathed. For know we can breath peacefully...tomorrow is a new day!

In my Car...

Ok, so I was going through some old file folders and came across some of my journals and writing's that I did during the time of my accident. I only wrote a few times, but I did keep them. It was a struggle actually to read them over again. I have read them all before and didn't seem to have as hard of time with them. Its amazing how quickly memories come flooding back when something is there to remind you. It was over powering, it was upsetting and at times took my breath away, my throat hurt from trying to hold back the tears and physically I felt pain throughout my body.
Honestly I have been holding back sharing with you some of my journal entries, and I have come to realize its probably due to the pain of remembering. With all that admitted, I have happily decided to post these writings. I seem to be ok with it...yes they are personal, they are very intimate but if I really want to write this book I am going to have to learn to put it out there.
There are many mothers and fathers who share their stories on line, in books or during seminar's...why am I so worried about it?
These writings that I share are really old, and written during a very emotional time. When I read them today, I almost get excited at the prospect of "Tweeking" them. Even though it is going to be trying for me to sit down and re-live all those feelings and emotions...I am ready to do so! I can't wait to re-write those memories..add more detail and maturity to the story.
So much has changed since these writings. My goodness I look back at them and feel the innocence, the lack of knowledge and the heartbreaking pain. I have evolved tremendously...and I am looking forward to reshaping and rewriting that part of my life. I think the biggest difference is my persepective...15 years later and I have a totally different out look! More to come...

In My Car....

Braden was too quiet, his silence was terrifying. He made no noise, no movement and was not responding to his surroundings.
The moment seemed like forever waiting for help, waiting for the sounds of the sirens but in fact it lasted for 12 long terrifying minutes. I couldn't stop searching for a sign that Braden was ok, he still sat motionless in his car seat.
Slowly his head dropped to the side to rest on his shoulder it was then I realized he could not hold his own head up. What was happening to him? Why was he not responding?
I could see Braden was trying to scream, his mouth was opening and closing, but nothing was heard. He kept staring straight ahead, eyes wide open, he was searching for me...but could not move to find me. Tears were falling down his cheeks, and blood was now running down his face.
Oh how I knew something was wrong. He was so still, I realized at the time that any noice from him would have been a relief...the silence was deafening. His color eventually began to fade and his tears had stopped. His eyes began to loose life, and each breath he took faded further and further apart. It was becoming more of a struggle to breath, his rhythm slowed and became so weak, it was so challenging for him to take in any air...is he dying? He was gasping for air, fighting so hard with the little strength he had left to survive.
I was lifeless, paralized...what do I do? I can't go to him...I am too scared, please god...send help, we need some help.
I was losing my battle with god to keep my son. Dear god don't take him, I've only had him awhile.
'The lord replies "I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me".
