Spencer is here! Another summer visit :)

Hey friends, I am really hoping to get back on track with my blogging. Summertime can be a challenge with all the wonderful activities going on. LOL..well, these past two weeks we have been on holidays, so its been harder to commit to this. I wanted to share a day we had so many years ago, with Spencer coming to town this week it brought back some memories.

Braden and Spencer met in Kindergarten and I can honestly say they had a spark between them from the minute they met. That little boy mischievous,  lets get in trouble kinda spark. They spent 4 years with eachother, driving teachers crazy always getting into some sort of fun trouble. They were not boys that had difficulties with behaviour, they just always liked a good laugh and sometimes that would bring disapproving looks from adults.
In grade 4 sadly Spencer moved to Calgary, the boys kept in touch for a bit. To be honest, it ended up being a rough time in our family, and keeping up with the friendship for a few years proved to be difficult.
Only for a few short years though, cause eventually these two crazies met up on facebook January 2008 and reconnected.
That summer August 2008 he came for a visit and stayed for a week, it was a great week. I had never seen Braden so happy. Honestly it was like he never left, the two of them picked up right were they left off.
They really do have a connection like nothing I've ever seen, and I don't mean that in a "gay" kinda way. (I can hear them laughing now). LOL
I  just mean, they have a friendship that I believe both of them need and rely on. They both bring something different to the table In their relationship, the laughs they have and jokes they share is something I would wish for, for everyone.

Being such a close friend to Braden over the years, Spencer has learned to accept and understand all the medical issues that come with Braden. It couldn't be easy to have a best friend who is medically fragile and you know his health will always be compromised.
Braden has been blessed with his friendship and too be honest so has our family. Spencer has been a non-judgemental, kind, caring and patient member of our family. As a mother to a young man who is medically  delicate, I have always been appreciative of his place in Braden's life. I have admired his commitment to his place in our family.
I could go on and on about their friendship, and I am sure through the years I will share many more posts about those two hooligans. ;)
I shared this page from my scrap book, these pictures were taken a very long time ago. Actually before Spencer moved out west. We had a SeaDoo boat back in the day, must have been maybe May 2001 when we went out too Conestoga lake with Braden, Spencer and Kailey. I remember this day, it was actually chilly out. The sun was warm, water was cold but smooth as ice. We wanted to take it out somewhere close to home and Conestoga lake was close enough for that.
Just reading the note on the page I guess we sold our Seadoo boat shortly after this day. We ended up upgrading to a much bigger boat, which let me tell you those were the best years ever~

After we sold that little boat we moved on an bought a bigger one. The picture above is actually of a day we had in Turkey Point with Spencer's family. We have a private island here in The Point, its called Pottahawk island. We had our boat docked in Turkey Point for a few years, so when we had our friends out in it we always headed over to the island. On this particular day we had the Hogg family out on our "Happy Ours" boat. It was a gorgeous day, Shelley and I enjoyed some beverages while the guys played with the kids in the lake. They played in the sand, making castles and naturally splashing in the water. I miss the sounds of that, it seems so long ago.

Look how cute and little the kids were, we had many good times and shared so many laughs with these three kids. So fortunate that still today we still have days like that :)
