Girlfriends, good times and birthday cake!

My wine and cheese little chalkboard idea. As you all know, I love looking through Pottery Barn and other magazines to get cool decorating ideas. Is that cheating? I mean, I didn't really come up with the idea but when people come in and compliment my design. Will I admit that I ripped it off..absolutely not!! Its all me baby..I have an amazingly creative mind, I should just be a decorator!! LOl

Regardless of my stealing hobby, I still did create this wine buffet table..and I am proud of it!
Last night was so much fun! It ended up being a small group, but that didn't dampen the laughs and good times!! A few of the girls came a bit late, I would rather late than never. I appreciated the fact that they came after the long day of work and then a meeting until 10pm, they are great friends.
When a few of the guest arrived I was still preparing some of my appetizers, we had a laugh because my friends knew not to touch the appetizers until I managed to get a picture first..its expected that I would eventually blog about the food creation! Once I got my picture of some of the new finger foods, they dug in and helped themselves. I was nervous at first because I wasn't sure how they would taste, It's always trial and error with new ideas. The prosciutto spirals with glaze turned out great! It was one of the favorites that was featured...lol

Here is the beginnig of my spirals, it is an easy recipe..just a bit time consuming.

Once you have put the filling and argula leaves, then you roll the prosciutto and put it in the fridge to get firm.

Once they have been in the fridge, take them out and slice 'em up. I initally forgot the glaze, when I remembered they tasted much better. Everyone liked them, I will certainly make those again.
The other new recipe that I tried was called Steak Crostini with Chive Cream Sauce. It wasn't as good as the other one, and it took a bit more time. But, I would serve it again it did go nicely with red wine.

Ok, funny story...so my family and friends have all been very supportive of my daily blog and I get many compliments. To be honest I am surprised to hear the number of people who read my blog..it is so nice to hear people say things and tell me that they enjoyed certain days that I have wrote about. Well, I was telling the girls last night how I read other mom's blogs here on the web, and how most of them are good christian american women. Most claim they have the perfect life, perfect kids, amazing husbands...any pictures that they ever post you can totally tell are staged. They are all so well put together, cute outfits, hair perfectly done and smiles that would melt your heart. Some bloggers show pictures when they are out with friends or having get togethers similiar to mine last night. Usually the pictures again show nothing but perfection and excellence, and everyone in them are so just so delighted and their hearts are filled with pride and happiness. Naturally, I am going to do the same thing right? I want to show off my perfect friends, perfect appetizers and drinks..we are all having a good time, we look good, everyone is smiling, laughing and enjoying eachothers company. I ask my wonderful, perfect friends to all gather around the perfect birthday girl so I can take a perfect picture...look what they gave me!!

Unfortunately its hard to see, but when I said ok, everyone say "Cheese", of course my beautiful friends have long strips of proscuitto meat hanging from their tongues, and Michelle pretend to lick Colleen's breast..WOW, seriously can I not be more proud of my perfect friends? Honestly I love it!! Life couldn't get any more perfect than the story this picture carries! I am so lucky to have this group in my life, its these perfect pictures that I can look at on a crappy day and just laugh!!

Yep again with the proscuitto tongues!! LOL

Oh this is my favorite one..check out COlleen pretending to "hump" (there is a story behind the humping) the birthday girl..nothing like the being humped while blowing out your birthday candles..lol

All I have to say to all those "Christian american blogger mom's" beat that for perfection!!
